Your t-shirt quilt doesn't have to be just t-shirts!
Making T-shirt quilts is lots of fun, but sometimes the materials create lots of problems. To create an awesome experience and the most snuggly quilt, below are our recommendations. Please contact us with any questionable items and materials that are not mentioned in this article.
Of course our focus is t-shirts, but there are so many other types of shirts and fabrics we can use (and do use) in your t-shirt quilts.
We can use polos, sweatshirts, scrubs, and jerseys! We can also use button down shirts and shirts with zippers - these can add a really interesting and unique look to your quilt! Other acceptable materials are fleece, flannel, polyester, and dri-fit materials.
We can use tank tops and v-necks too, but please note that these materials may require additional fees if extra material has to be sewn in to make enough for selected panel size.
Have a variety of items that you wanted all included in the same quilt? That's not a problem! Your t-shirt quilt can be a mix of t-shirt, sweatshirt, jersey, and button down shirts!
Want to include an item that isn't a shirt at all? Maybe you have a cheer uniform, a towel, an apron, or another non-shirt item you want included! We might still be able to use it! If the material falls under one of our acceptable materials and have enough fabric to meet our panel size requirements - we can probably use it! If you're unsure, give us a call - or shoot us an email!
Materials we cannot use
- Canvas and Denim
- Down and Knitted Items
- Leather, Lycra, and Silk
- Letter Jackets
If you have an item that isn't listed here, feel free to call us and ask! Maybe we haven't used it before, but we'd love to give it a try!
